First Tutorial

So here is a tutorial....its not EXACTLY the same as the icon I posted but its the best I could do.

Go from this to this

As requested by twistedlaletz :)

Sharpen your cap & then size & crop it:

Duplicate layer & screen (60% opacity)

New selective layer: Curves: RGB: 68,115:

New fill layer: #d0471e (soft light 10% opacity)

Color Balance: Midtones - +8,-12,-16:

New Selective Color:
Reds: -100,0,+100,0
Yellows:-10,0,-20,0
Greens:+100,+100,+100,0
Neutrals:+20,+5,+15,0
Blacks:0,0,0,+100

New fill layer:#dbe7bc (color burn 30%)

Duplicate base layer bring it to the top & set to soft light:

New fill layer:#ffb400 (soft light 10%)

That's it done, you've gone from this to this

I sometimes add another fill layer #e1e0e0 (linear burn 100%) it adds something to the icon!!!

And that's it!!

Here it is...Dean-Fest 2007!! These were not easy to color....not happy with more than half of them but I've made them so I'm posting them!!

I probably won't be posting again for a while....I'm off work sick this week, that's the only reason I got icons up so quickly. I want to try & do some One Tree Hill next!!

Does anyone know of any icon communities that are looking for makers? Or if anyone would like to start one then let me know. I'm tired of posting my icons at my personal journal! Thanks :)

I was having major issues with my SPN coloring, then I found one I liked....I was trying to do icons from the S2 finale but it wasn't working so I did a Sammy icon-fest. At least one from every episode in season 2 (I may have missed out Hollywood Babylon 'cos the cap was rubbish!)

This post almost didn't happen 'cos my LJ hates me. *fingers crossed it works this time* - It hasn't worked. You can still see the icons but no teaser on my LJ page!!

New coloring. Actually proud of this batch of SPN icons, well the first few anyway!!

I'm thinking of starting a community for my icons. I don't know whether it is a good idea, I'm just tired of posting my icons on a personal journal when so many people use comms for their icons. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Bit of a multi-fandom/random post. Been trying out new coloring, especially with my GA icons. Just adding colored layers & things. Please let me know what you think. I just have to say the coloring on the Chief/Addy icons is awful but I had to include them 'cos it was a lovely scene!!
I was also in a very Adam Brody mood so lot's of icons of him, some with Rachel Bilson.

God I love ALL Period Dramas!!! Never thought I would hear myself say that. I watched Sense & Sensibilty for the first time on Wednesday & OMG I loved it!!!!!!! I am so in love with Alan Rickman....and a certain Mr Laurie was in it, think I actually 'squeed'!! So when I fall in love with a movie I make icons for it :)
